This product is a thermostat controlled relay that automatically turns your vehicle's radiator fan off and on based on a temperature that you set. This product hooks up directly to the fan and does not need any other switches or relays to work. It is extremely easy to install. The fully adjustable thermostat control lets you set the on/off temperature to just about anything you want. In other words, in the Summer, you can set the fan to run contantly so that your engine stays cool and will never over-heat. The fan will also run after you turn your engine off to dissapate heat under the hood. In the Winter, you can turn the thermostat up so that you get plenty of heat to the interior of your vehicle - without over-heating your engine. It's just a very versatile product and very well made. Here's a warning, though: even with the fan off, there is apparently a very, very small current draw by this device. If you drive your vehicle every day or so, you will never have a problem. However, if you are going to let your vehicle sit for over a week, you will probably want to disconnect this unit so that it does not run your battery down.
